Repetition is powerful in sales and business. When prospects hear the same message over and over, they are far more likely to recall it and act at the right time. While you might be bored restating the same message numerous times, prospects appreciate it. Repetition builds trust. For example, after several cold calls (7 is the average touch point per person), familiarity and confidence are established. It is in doing the mundane task where discipline and results are created. Get good at doing the same thing over and over, rather than bouncing around from task to task.
Take advice from those who have done it
Take advice from those who have succeeded already. Refrain from listening to those individuals who have NOT produced results but talk a good game. Many entrepreneurs FAKE success. Let results and proof speak louder than words.
It makes no difference if they are your mom, dad, girlfriend or boyfriend. Although they want what is best for you, unless they've done what you want to do, or live a life you want, don't listen to their advice. Advice from the poor will often lead to more poverty. Advice from the mediocre, will lead to more mediocrity. Advice from the successful, will at least open the right door!
Mundane tasks beat shiny objects
It is better to get great at one thing than be mediocre at many things. Make that your sole mission. I found my income increase by doing just that - more cold calling. So instead of focusing on offering numerous sales solutions to clients, I built my entire business on cold calling. In doing so, I build trust with bigger clients over time. You don't need to be known for a bunch of things. You only need to produce results in one specific area. This is powerful.
Final thoughts
Be authentic. Be clear about where you are on your business journey. There is no need to impress anyone. By getting great at one thing, you will build trust and gain the respect of others. There is no need to fake it until you make it.
