No matter what your business, you must make cold outreach part of that business. Social media platforms and email are all the norm in today’s communication – but none can replace the impact of your voice over the phone. NO ONE likes to pick up the phone and cold call, particularly when you might be reaching out to someone you just met at a networking event.
Outbound calls allow for immediate, real-time conversations with prospects. This personal interaction helps build rapport, address concerns directly, and tailor the conversation to the individual’s needs, which is often more effective than impersonal digital communication. Cold outreach is much more powerful than an emotionless email.
To overcome the discomfort of rejection when making outbound calls, begin small. Make 5 outbound calls at the same time everyday. Once comfortable, increase this number to 10, 20 and 50 as you see fit. Volume is important in sales. Through repetition, you will get better. There is no magic script or timing. Just make the outbound call.
Although it is easier to not do so, move past the fear because it will help you be more effective in sales. The easy way isn’t necessarily the right way. Being consistent each day will yield the sales results you want. The traditional way works. If others have done it, you can too.
