Why I Keep Making Cold Calls In This Age Of AI

Cold calling creates direct human connection. It still matters in the age of AI because it delivers results when done correctly. It can work in hand-in-hand with AI, in fact. Here is my take on cold calling in today's world of business and why considering this sales method might be effective:


1. Customized conversations


AI cannot replace emotional connection. Sales is about building rapport and developing personal, authentic conversations. Automated systems are great for volume but the tone is missing. Cold calls allow you to read tone and respond in real time. It isn't cookie-cutter.


2. Timely follow-up


Sometimes it takes leaving two or three voice messages before getting in the door. Other times it takes one. The key is to understand who you are trying to reach. Know your audience. Know when to keep going and when to move on. This number will be different for each industry. There is no magic number, but the outreach works.


3. Confidence and Clarity


Cold calling converts into sales. I run my entire business, Prospect2Win, on cold calling. Despite digital saturation, cold calling remains effective in industries where urgency and trust are important. This could be in B2B sales or tech. It allows for clear communication with prospects that build confidence and clarity.


Cold calling isn't obsolete. It is less about volume and more about precision and reading situations. effectively. It complements AI out reach. For example, on LinkedIn, engaging with others is wonderful. By using multiple outreach methods, and NOT avoiding the phones, great things will happen!
